Product Review - Make Up Academy's Pro Base Prime and Conceal Powder.

I will admit, I hadn't actually heard of Make Up Academy before but after doing research I have discovered it is a UK brand that is supposed to have good quality products for an affordable price. To be honest, I was originally drawn to the palette for the colours (each colour targets a different area on your skin) and when I saw it was only £4 I thought "Why not?!"

About the Prime and Conceal Powder
This is a baked product with 4 different colours to help any problem areas and even out skin tone. Many of these products are available on the market individually, usually in cream form (a.k.a CC Creams). Here is what each colour aims to do:
Lilac - Brightens up dull, tired looking skin.
Peach - This neutralises any dark circles on pretty much any skin tone.
Green - Great for anti-redness. If you find you get quite flushed or maybe have Rosacea, this is great for evening the colour out. Also ideal for any blemishes.
Yellow - Also good for any purple/ blue undertones, especially around the eyes, more suitable for olive and tanned skin.
Used all together this is a super-powered problem fixer, evening out skin tone and reducing redness.

My response to the product
So first, to apply this, I made sure my skin was squeaky clean and well moisturised. I was drawn to the powder more than the cream as I have combination skin and want to combat the oily shine where I can so thought a powder would be more suited for this.
I used a flat brush, similar to a kabuki brush so I could really work the product into it and then onto my skin.
First thought "Very soft". However needed quite a lot of product as I didn't feel it is very pigmented so had to build it up.
As for evening out skin tone I am not entirely sure. It definitely made my T-Zone more matte so I will test this out in different lighting over the next few days.
There is a slight shimmer to the palette which helps to illuminate the skin.

Check ups throughout the Day (Based on an 11 hour work day)
8:30pm - Application. Found it tightening my skin making it slightly dry and uncomfortable. Seemed to settle by the time I had finished doing my make-up.
12:45pm - Skin is looking good and make up is still in place. T-Zone is looking perfectly matte.
4:30pm - Make-up still sitting well after I have battled the elements with it being windy and rainy outside. A few slight dry patches under my cheeks if anything.Slight shine on my T-zone but is more of a nice dewy look at the minute.
9:30pm - Cheeks are now very dry, also quite patchy a long the Jaw line. My foundation and powder is still in place however looking slightly worn and dull (weather factors probably didn't help.

Overall this product worked to keep my skin matte but dried up my cheeks, good staying power until about 4:30pm. I will continue using and see if I can see much difference.
Product available from Superdrug - £4

Thanks Everyone xx
