I've been thinking for a couple of weeks now it might be quite nice to do a post on my work. It gives you an idea of my background in the Beauty Industry and to take the opportunity to talk about some of the products in our range. We are initially a skincare company but within the last year or two, treatments and a spa environment is becoming more and more known both around our local area to down to London.
H2k of Harrogate
Background of the Products
The owner and founder of H2k, Hazel Barry, developed the brand 15 years ago (Supplying the hotel industry all over the world). The thing that sets us apart from other skincare ranges is the fact that Hazel suffers with inflammation of the joints and skin and has personally had a lot of input into the growth and making of the products to help target these problems.
The ingredient that runs through all our products is Kalahari Melon Seed Oil which comes from Namibia (our only imported product - the rest of our products are made in Yorkshire). Kalahari Melon Seed oil is a natural anti-inflammatory and is great for calming the skin. It can help a wide range of problems such as acne, exzcema and psoriasis. In fact, our products are actually recommended by Harrogate Hospital for patients who have any skin problems.
We have six different ranges with different scents which go by the names of:
Sensual - with added Vitamin E to promote cell repair
Organic 'h' - with Cucumber extracts
Calm Seas - with Cocoa Butter and Mango extracts
Mischief - with Eucalyptus and Frankincense
Compulsion - with Seaweed and Jasmine
Beautiful Skin - with no added extracts but just a super moisturiser.
Products also include 100% Natural Candles and Aromatherapy - All made in Harrogate.
(Top - The Sensual Product Range. Middle - Beautiful Skin Hand Care
Bottom - 100% Natural Candle for Beauty Within, Ylang Ylang and Lime Essential Oils)
We even have our own Herbal Teas with 10 flavours to choose from. We believe that skincare works both on the inside and out. Our herbal teas have different properties to help certain problems, for example:
Lemon-grass and Ginger - Ginger is a great ingredient for soothing the tummy whereas Lemongrass works to balance the mind.
Red Berry with 45% Hibiscus - Not only does this tea smell DIVINE but it is great for anti-aging and regenerating the skin.
Apple Loves Mint - This aids digestion and the wonderful apples help to reduce any risk of skin disease. The old phrase "an apple a day" isn't a myth!
Not only do we recommend drinking the Teas daily but we also incorporate them into some of our treatments including a Chamomile foot soak, a Peppermint Tea foot scrub and the oh so indulgent "Skin Boost Body Wrap" where we use the Red Berry and Hibiscus Tea to form a lovely exfoliator and mask for the whole body. Bliss.

Treatments
At the front we have a lovely shop with burning essential oils and spa music so you enter into a peaceful shopping experience. We also have a nail desk at the back left for Manicure treatments.
Through the glass doors is where you reach the two treatment rooms, both decorated in deep plum and again, Lavender and Chamomile oils burning so you can leave your troubles at the door. We have two Beauty Therapists (one being me of course) and the Senior Therapist called Nicki. We offer a range of treatments from Manicures and Pedicures, to Waxing and Facials and of course a range of different massages. Below is our pride and joy...our treatment rooms!
(Nicki's room, including a shower for our body wrap treatments)
(My Room! Smaller but cosy. Looks tiny in this picture but there is room to move. I look after it like it's my own home.)
So I hope you have enjoyed having a sneaky peak at my work! I love what I do and I am happy to answer any questions you may have whether it is about treatments or skincare.
xx
